The new legislation states, “Homeowners’ association board members must take a board member certification course that is up to 4 hours long with certain subjects mandated within 90-days after being elected or appointed to the board.” This course fulfills this requirement.
Managers and board members will receive a comprehensive education of the statutory requirements and responsibilities that each volunteer must know to more effectively serve on the Board of Directors of a Homeowners Association. Participants will be able to demonstrate their familiarity with the responsibilities of being an effective Director for their Homeowners Association including a better understanding of: elections; record keeping; financial literacy and transparency; levying of fines; notice and meeting requirements; conflicts of interest; and insurance requirements.
