Course | Hurricane Preparedness
A discussion on strategies to protect residents and assets before, during, and after a major storm. Our panel will cover essential operational protocols, such as securing common area amenities, testing backup generators, and reviewing emergency vendor contracts. Participants also learn to navigate complex legal and financial responsibilities, including confirming board authority for special assessments and evaluating insurance coverage for wind and flood damage. The session will also cover the steps an association should take to recover from losses incurred due to the storms.
There will be door prizes and delicious breakfast for active CAMs and community association board members who register and attend. In order to register and attend you must be an active and licensed CAM or a current Board Member for your Community Association.

This condo board certification course satisfies the educational requirements of the new legislation which went into effect on July 1, 2024. The new legislation states that, “Condominium association board members must take a 4-hour board member certification course with certain subjects mandated within 90-days after being elected or appointed to the board.” This course fulfills this requirement.
Managers and board members will receive a comprehensive education of the statutory requirements and responsibilities that each volunteer must know to more effectively serve on the Board of Directors of a Condominium Association. Students will be able to demonstrate their familiarity with the responsibilities of being an effective Director for their Condominium Association including a better understanding of: (a) milestone inspection requirements; (b) structural integrity reserve study requirements; (c) elections; (d) record keeping; (e) financial literacy and transparency; (f) levying of fines; (g) notice and meeting requirements; (h) conflicts of interest; and (i) insurance requirements.
