Florida updated the building code to include new elevator requirements, affecting over 80,000 elevators across the state. These elevators were supposed to be in compliance by 12/31/2023, with no permitted extensions. Learn about this updated requirement, what you need to do to be in compliance, and how you can ensure the safety of your elevators moving forward.
There will be door prizes and delicious breakfast for active CAMs and community association board members who register and attend. In order to register and attend you must be an active and licensed CAM or a current Board Member for your Community Association.
Note before continuing: The DBPR Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares & Mobile Homes requires that all Board Members who attend must conduct their own webinar registration and, on the day of the webinar, log in/join in on their own, with their own unique link (or phone in information) provided by Zoom. This must take place even if you watch with other people. This assures you will appear on the attendance sheet, providing proof of attendance.
Join Campbell Property Management and attorneys Kerstin Henze and Alan Schwartzseid from Kaye Bender Rembaum for this Condo Board Certification Course.
This NEW condo board certification course satisfies the educational requirements of the new legislation which went into effect on July 1, 2024. The new legislation states that, “Condominium association board members must take a 4-hour board member certification course with certain subjects mandated within 90-days after being elected or appointed to the board.” This course fulfills this requirement.
Managers and board members will receive a comprehensive education of the statutory requirements and responsibilities that each volunteer must know to more effectively serve on the Board of Directors of a Condominium Association. Students will be able to demonstrate their familiarity with the responsibilities of being an effective Director for their Condominium Association including a better understanding of: (a) milestone inspection requirements; (b) structural integrity reserve study requirements; (c) elections; (d) record keeping; (e) financial literacy and transparency; (f) levying of fines; (g) notice and meeting requirements; (h) conflicts of interest; and (i) insurance requirements.
